The Air Race & Bi-Plane Fly-In has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 10, 2020.
The City of Galveston has made the decision to cancel all special events for the month of July.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you at the races!
The Galveston Island 150 Air Race is back with another amazing day of camaraderie and competition. The new Biplane Fly-In will see more aircraft and more fun for everyone. There will be awards in all classes as well as a People's Choice Award for both race planes and bi-planes. This event is free to the public!
Spectators will not only have many beautiful aircraft to view and pilots to meet but there will also be amazing food available from Koop's Kitchen BBQ. Summer season is in full effect and there will be a lot going on in Galveston. Make this a great long weekend and book your hotel room at Moody Gardens. Stay and play with their special weekend room rate for air race spectators and pilots.
2020 sees the first annual Bi-Plane Fly-In. It will bring great aircraft to see on display and also race. Stan Humphrey is the fly-in organizer and he also races his Christen Eagle.
Dave Adams is a real icon in the racing world. He hand-built his Long EZ and is a 6 time Sport Air Race champion. Dave is from Villa Ridge, MO, and always has time to talk and show you his plane.
Meet #49 racers Ashley and Karen Wade from Sulpher, Louisiana racing in their classic 1960 Meyers 200C. This husband and wife team are champion racers!
Racers need to enter as soon as possible. Late entries are accepted but not encouraged.
The race is a Sport Air Race League sanctioned event, pilots do not need to be League members to participate but do need to be a member to earn points toward the year-end Championships. Race entry fee covers all classes you wish to enter and includes a t-shirt, goody bag, and pilot's lunch.
See you at the races!!
