There is a minor snag in the construction project on the North Apron. Here's the update:
Magenta Construction Zones as outlined in Magenta:
Due to utility line damage that runs to Cano Hangar 27 and GLS Hangar 28, it is necessary to remove the new concrete and install all new electrical and water lines.
Starting Monday, July 29th, this area will be closed. We anticipate the utility line work to be completed and the three-day concrete poured on Friday, but Monday at the latest. Depending on the pour date, this area will open up Tuesday, August 6th or on Thursday, August 8th.
The only hangar access that is affected by this repair will be large aircraft needing access to/from the Sullivan Hangar. Tenants located on the east side of the barricades can taxi through the Access Point between Hangar 28 and Trey Dibrell’s hangar, to gain access to the taxiways/runways.
Gate 1 will remain functional during this repair.
Blue Construction Zone as outlined in Blue:
RAC expects to open this area up on Tuesday, August 9th.
Red Construction Zone as outlined in Red:
Work on Taxiway E, including the striping, should be completed by August 26th. Due to this closure, all aircraft needing Runway 18 full length are required to back taxi from Taxiway D.
Green Construction Zone as outlined in Green:
RAC expects to close the Green Zone on Monday, August 5th for approximately two weeks. We anticipate this zone to be completed around August 19th.
Tenants affected by this construction are located on the North side of the Cano Hangar 23, Units E4, E5 & E6, Hangar 24, Hangar 27, Units A5, A6, A7, & A8 and Tenants in GLS Hangar 28, Unit 9 & 10.
Close Out of North Apron Repairs:
Once the Green Zone is completed around August 19th, it will be necessary for RAC to go back into all previous work areas and complete the seal joint work and applying taxiway striping between the hangars. We anticipate this work will be completed by August 26th.
During this time, you can expect to see workers beveling the concrete and installing the joint seals, which takes a few hours to complete in front of each hangar. Workers will do their best to give all aircraft the right-of-way, but you may experience some delays.
Once all joint sealing work is completed, the paint contractor will finish by striping the taxiways between the hangar rows.
Once the North Apron Repairs are completed, work will move to Taxiway E. Updates to follow.
During construction near your hangar, please do not drive your vehicle into the barricaded work zone. We also recommend you keep your hangar door closed, to help reduce dust in your hangar.
