We’re excited to share details about upcoming major improvements at Scholes International Airport, made possible through grant support from Congressman Weber and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
Project Overview:
The upcoming project will relocate Taxiway E, reconstruct the general aviation apron with new aircraft pads for C-17 aircraft, and improve drainage near Taxiway C.
Project Cost: $7.3 million
Funding: 90% from TxDOT | 10% from the City of Galveston
Important Dates to Know:
Pre-Bid Conference: April 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Location: Scholes International Airport, 2115 Terminal Drive, Galveston, TX
Bid Deadline: May 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM
City Council Approval of Grant (Anticipated): May or June 2025
Estimated Construction Start: July 2025
Estimated Completion: Second quarter of 2026
