STARTING OCTOBER 24, 2022, BOTH RUNWAYS WILL BE CLOSED NIGHTLY AT 9:00 PM AND REOPENING AT 6:00 AM EVERY MORNING.

Update #7


Good afternoon everyone,


This update is our seventh update for our Runway 18/36 rehabilitation project. As with previous projects, new information is in RED font, and we will update you on the progress of the project and changes that limit your access to the runways and taxiways.


Due to weather conditions, contractor availability, and equipment breakdowns, all information below is subject to change.


Runway 18/36:

The runway work comprises five phases that will take 120 calendar days to complete the repairs. Please see the enclosed attachment for each Phase location.


Current Work Areas:

· Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. Spall repairs are done, and joint seal repairs are ongoing.


· Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and includes all concrete for both runways and Taxiway C to the hold short line. Work final work starts in this area the night of October 24. Runway 14/32 will be closed each night at 9:00 PM and opened each morning at 6:00 AM to complete joint seal repairs at the runway intersection and mark and stripe the runway intersection.


· Phase 3: includes work north of Taxiway C and south of Taxiway E. The spall and joint seal repairs are complete.


· Phase 4: includes spall repair and joint seal work between the hold short lines on Taxiway E and Runway 18. The spall and joint seal repairs are complete.


· Phase 5: includes marking and striping Runway 18/36 and taxiways A, C, D, and E up to and including the hold short markings. The striping work will start the week on October 24 through November 4 and will be done during the day, except for the work at the runway intersection.

Runway 18/36:

Current Work Areas:

· Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. Spall repairs are done, and joint seal repairs are ongoing.


· Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and includes all concrete for both runways and Taxiway C to the hold short line. This project phase is done, except for some joint seal repairs and stripping.


· Phase 3: includes work north of Taxiway C and south of Taxiway E. The spall repairs and joint seal work is complete between Taxiway C and D and continues north of Taxiway D to the south of Taxiway E.


· Phase 4: includes spall repair and joint seal work between the hold short lines on Taxiway E and Runway 18. Phase 4 is complete except for stripping, and Taxiway E will be open by 6:00 PM today.


· Phase 5: includes marking and stripping Runway 18/36 and all taxiways up to and including the hold short markings. This work should begin the week of October 24 and will require Runway 14/32 to be closed every night for approximately two weeks between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. A new NOTAM will be issued 72 hours before the nightly closure starts.

· Phase 3: includes work north of Taxiway C and south of Taxiway E. The spall repairs and joint seal work is complete between Taxiway C and D, and Taxiway D will be open starting September 24 at 6:00 AM. Work continues north of Taxiway D to Taxiway E. Stripping will be completed during Phase 5, which is the last phase of the project.


· Phase 4: includes spall repair and joint seal work between the hold short lines on Taxiway E and Runway 18. Taxiway E will be closed during this project phase.


· Phase 5: includes marking and stripping Runway 18/36 and all taxiways up to and including the hold short markings.

Due to weather conditions, contractor availability, and equipment breakdowns, all information below is subject to change.


Runway 18/36:

The runway work comprises five phases that will take 120 calendar days to complete the repairs. Please see the enclosed attachment for each Phase location.


Current Work Areas:

· Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. Spall repairs are done, and the remaining work will be joint seal repairs and removing and installing new runway markings.


· Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and includes all concrete for both runways and Taxiway C to the hold short line. This phase of the project is done.


· Phase 3: includes work north of Taxiway C and south of Taxiway E. The joint seal work on Phase 1 will be done during this closure. This phase should take 60 calendar days to complete.


Taxiway D will be closed during this project phase.

Runway 18/36:

The runway work comprises five phases that will take 120 calendar days to complete the repairs. Please see the enclosed attachment for each Phase location.


Current Work Areas:

  • Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. The spall repairs are completed, and the remaining work will be joint seal repairs and removing and installing new runway markings.

  • Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and will include all concrete for both runways and Taxiway C to the hold short line. Due to additional needed in this phase, the nighttime work is extended to August 8.

NIGHTLY CLOSURE OF RUNWAY 14/32 STARTS AT 9:00 PM AND ENDS AT 6:00 AM


RUNWAY 14/32 IS OPEN DAILY BETWEEN 6:00 AM AND 9:00 PM.

  • During the Phase 2 work, the FAA has NOTAM both the ILS and MALSR for Runway 14/32 out of service for the entire period from July 11 to August 8. Airport staff will turn off the PAPI, REIL, and runway lights nightly at 9:00 PM and turn them back on at 6:00 AM. daily.

  • During the night closure of both runways, the airport will remain open for helicopter operations using the apron and parallel taxiway for operations.

Runway 18/36:

The runway work comprises five phases that will take 120 calendar days to complete the repairs. Please see the enclosed attachment for each Phase location.


Current Work Areas:

  • Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. Taxiway A is closed through the duration of this runway project, which should take 30 calendar days to complete. The spall repairs are nearing completion, and the remaining work will be joint seal repairs and removing and installing new runway markings.

  • Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and will include all concrete for both runways and Taxiway C on the runway side of the hold short line. This nighttime work is being done between July 11 and July 31 from 9:00 PM, and 6:00 AM daily. Runway 14/32 and Taxiway C will open daily between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. NOTAM 07/008 closes Runway 14/32 daily from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM local time starting Monday, July 11 at 9:00 PM. to Sunday, July 31 at 6:00 AM.

June 16, 2022


All information below is subject to change due to weather conditions, contractor availability, and equipment breakdowns.


Runway 18/36:

The runway work comprises five phases that will take 120 calendar days to complete the work. Please see the enclosed attachment for each Phase location.

  • Phase 1: starts at the approach end of Runway 36 and Taxiway A and goes north to the south side of the runway intersections. Taxiway A will be closed through the duration of this runway project. This phase should take 30 calendar days to complete.

  • Phase 2: is at the runway intersection and will include all concrete for both runways. Taxiway C will be closed during this phase of the project. This work is being done at night between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Both runways will be closed, but the ramp area will remain open for helicopter operations. Runway 14/32 will open each morning at 6:00 AM. This phase should take 20 calendar days to complete.

  • Phase 3: includes work north of Taxiway C and south of Taxiway E. Taxiway D will be closed during this project phase. This phase should take 50 calendar days to complete.

  • Phase 4: includes work at the approach end of Runway 18 and Taxiway E. Taxiway E will be closed during this project phase. This phase should take 10 calendar days to complete.

  • Phase 5: includes remarking and striping Runway 18/36, the intersection, and the sections of Taxiway A, C, D, and E that were rehabilitated. This phase should take 10 calendar days to complete.

We will issue a NOTAM on Friday closing Runway 18/36 and Taxiway A starting Monday morning.
